Courage and the Coward
Courage and the Coward
The Coward, they called him
Always running
Fearing for safety
Like a Horse in stark Darkness
Everyting brought fear
Things near and dear
Responsibility her never took
All burden off his head he shook
Bullied, he always got
Against oppression he never fought
Like a timid cow, he stayed
in the cold climate of fear
Hands Shaking, mind panicking
They Laughed at him, ridiculed him
Made him a market ass
Big bully playing the ball on his tails
In his mind - he lived in a place
a place called Jail
eating breadcrumbs and insects
cause that's what his life became
And in this jail, on the wall
some words were written that he saw
"A coward dies a Thousand Deaths"
This is on the wall they read
These words lit fire in his heart
that found a trail up to his head
and when the big bad bully came
he took an axe, he cut his head
and the world looked shocked at
he bully dead
they fled, their feet as fast as could
carried them to the lumber woods
the mind was free, and the jail broke down
Those trees so green,
Those skies so blue
The Coward had the Courage - he knew
